Building a daily puzzle streak without racing the clock

A daily puzzle streak counts how many days in a row you complete the day’s puzzle. A completion streak rewards showing up and finishing, not finishing fast, so you can keep one without racing a clock.

In Sudoku Sama, the streak is that kind of record: complete each day’s 6×6 placement, with no timer. Why a daily puzzle might skip the clock is a separate page.

What a daily puzzle streak actually counts

A streak is a run of days. What it counts depends on the kind of daily puzzle. A completion streak asks whether you finished. A speed score asks how fast that finish was.

Completion streaks vs speed scores

A generic contrast. No app is ranked here.
Completion streak Speed score
What’s measured Whether you finished the day’s puzzle How fast you finished
What ends the run A day you do not complete the puzzle A slower finish than the time being chased
What’s rewarded Showing up and finishing Finishing fast

How the streak works in Sudoku Sama

Come back each day and answer that day’s one key placement. Completing the question keeps the streak going. The how-to guide is the tap flow.

GOOD and PERFECT both count

Only the daily puzzle counts toward the streak. Both GOOD and PERFECT count. Archive completions do not. This page does not define what earns GOOD or what earns PERFECT.

No timer

The streak never depends on how long you take that day. There is no clock to beat.

Habit tips for a calm streak

  1. Pick a fixed moment in the day, such as coffee or a commute. Not while driving.
  2. Keep it small: one question, not a whole grid. That is the one key placement.
  3. Reminders are an optional invitation, scheduled on your device only if you want them. On the results page, NOTIFY ME TOMORROW is that option. You can decline, and you can keep a streak without them.
  4. If you are stuck, use the scan for a hidden single rather than guessing.
  5. After you answer, use HOW? to see the numbered steps. Step replay is how that review works.

Finishing can also unlock a short science reading, explained on its own page. Science readings are AI-generated editorial text based on linked NASA reference materials. NASA has not reviewed or endorsed these readings or this app. Read about those readings.

Keeping your streak across iPhone and iPad

iCloud syncs dates and results only, not the reading text. Optional iCloud Sync keeps Daily completion dates and grades and Archive collection dates and grades in sync. It does not sync the reading text, the original puzzle boards, answers, display name, or preferences. Reviewing a restored result depends on relevant puzzle content being available. The app is in English and requires iOS or iPadOS 26 or later. Support has the sync details. That is the limit of what sync keeps aligned. It does not restore an original puzzle snapshot.
